Support the Chelsea Pensioners and their historic home

The Royal Hospital Chelsea has been the home of the Chelsea Pensioners since opening in 1692.

We depend on the generosity of friends to care for our unique community of Army veterans, in return for their loyal service to the Nation.

We depend on your donations

Every penny you donate helps to provide the Chelsea Pensioners with the best care and quality of life and protects our precious architectural heritage and glorious grounds for future generations.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea Charity (Royal Hospital Chelsea Appeal Ltd, Reg Charity No 1076414)

Our charity supports the Royal Hospital and the Chelsea Pensioners by raising funds in four key areas:

CARING FOR THE CHELSEA PENSIONERS

We are committed to giving the Chelsea Pensioners the very best care and quality of life. A gift to care for the Pensioners will help provide everything from excellent nursing and medical care, to the activities and opportunities that contribute to a rewarding retirement.

PROTECTING OUR HERITAGE

Help preserve our precious centuries-old heritage - from Sir Christopher Wren’s elegant original design incorporating the Great Hall, Wren Chapel and colonnade, to the legacy of leading names like interior designer Robert Adam and architect Sir John Soane. We also depend on gifts to care for the magnificent collection of art and artefacts in our safe-keeping.

MAINTAINING OUR GROUNDS

From the beautifully landscaped Ranelagh Gardens to the extensive South Grounds, our grounds provide a precious green oasis in the heart of the city. From the gracious avenues of plane trees to the drifts of spring snowdrops, our grounds are a haven for wildlife and a tranquil retreat for Chelsea Pensioners and visitors alike.

Make a donation today and we will put your gift to where there is greatest need to continue our vital work.
