The Royal Hospital Chelsea is proud to announce that the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary has once again been awarded the Gold Standard Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award for End-of-Life Care.
This nationally recognised accreditation is awarded to care settings that demonstrate a sustained commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to residents approaching the final stages of life. The reaccreditation is valid for three years and reflects the dedication and professionalism of our healthcare team.
Setting the Standard for Compassionate Care
The reaccreditation highlights the continued work across the team to embed best practice - not just in medical care, but in the support we provide to Pensioners and their families during what can be a profoundly emotional time. Every member of the clinical and support staff at the Infirmary contributes to a culture of dignity, respect, and holistic care.
We are also pleased to share that the GSF national team has selected examples of our work to showcase as models of best practice - a mark of distinction that recognises the Royal Hospital as a leader in the sector.
National Recognition at the GSF Conference
The award was presented at the GSF Conference and Awards Ceremony in Birmingham, where Our Matron, Monica and Deputy Matron, Marlene along with members of our care leadership team attended on behalf of the Royal Hospital.
In addition to receiving the reaccreditation, the Royal Hospital Chelsea was also nominated for the prestigious GSF Care Home of the Year award - a nomination that stands as a tribute to the consistency and quality of care delivered at the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary.
While we did not take home the top prize, being shortlisted among the country’s most respected care providers is an achievement in its own right, and one we are proud to share.
A Continuing Commitment
At the Royal Hospital Chelsea, our mission extends far beyond preserving history and tradition. We are equally committed to ensuring that every Chelsea Pensioner receives the highest standards of care throughout their life - especially when they need it most.
This award is a reflection of that commitment and of the tireless efforts of our staff. To all those who played a part in securing this reaccreditation - thank you. Your work is valued and deeply appreciated.
