Co-Secretariat of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on North Korea Honours Chelsea Pensioner Korean War Veterans

Today, the Royal Hospital Chelsea was host to a special gathering in honour of the Chelsea Pensioner veterans of the Korean War. Timothy Cho, Co-Secretariat of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on North Korea, joined us to honour their bravery and sacrifice during one of the most challenging conflicts of the 20th century.

Timothy, who escaped North Korea himself, came to the UK in 2008. He has since been campaigning for freedom and human rights. During his visit, he presented the Chelsea Pensioners with a special gift as a tribute to their service. He shared more on his story of getting to the UK and thanked the Korean War veterans for their bravery and sacrifice.

Fellow Chelsea Pensioners and staff at the Royal Hospital joined the occasion and everyone was treated to an inspiring musical performance by Emily Yeyoung. Like Timothy, Emily also fled North Korea in her teenage years and now uses her music to share stories of resilience and hope.
