Practice Manager

Closing date: 15th September 2025

Due to retirement, we need to appoint a new Practice Manager at the Royal Hospital Chelsea's NHS GP surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a key leadership role, and you will be responsible for managing a small but dedicated practice team in providing high-quality, safe and patient-focused clinical services to the Chelsea Pensioners, and for fostering a positive and effective working environment.

Reporting to the Royal Hospital's senior GP, you will ensure the practice meets its local and national NHS objectives and contractual obligations, working closely with all relevant external organisations to promote effective collaboration and service delivery.

You are responsible for the timely submission of data, and for ensuring the practice is compliant with CQC standards and regulations and is ready for a successful CQC inspection at all times. You will contribute to the strategic planning and development of patient services in line with national and local NHS policies, and the role also includes responsibility for financial planning and budgeting to optimise income and expenditure in line with the aims of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking, highly organised individual with proven leadership and management experience, strong communication and organisational skills, and a recognised qualification in management or leadership, but we also need a flexible leader, who is willing to assist with the wider duties of the medical centre admin team when needed.

Management level experience in NHS general practice is essential, but this role is open to those who are not yet practice managers, but who can demonstrate the qualities needed to succeed in this position.
