The Royal Hospital Chelsea is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team.

About the Role:
As a Housekeeper, you’ll play a vital role in the daily upkeep of our wards, communal areas, medical centre, and dining spaces. You’ll also support meal service and maintain high hygiene standards across all domestic areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean carpets, floors, bathrooms, and communal areas to a high standard.
  • Deep clean areas as required, especially following health and safety incidents.
  • Maintain and polish heritage woodwork, brass, and fittings.
  • Clean and prepare Chelsea Pensioner’s rooms daily, including deep cleans between occupants.
  • Support meal service by preparing dining areas, changing linens, and cleaning kitchenettes.
  • Ensure domestic appliances are clean and safe to use, reporting any faults.
  • Remove waste and maintain hygiene in medical and communal areas.
  • Assist with bed-making and provide additional support to Chelsea Pensioners as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of COSHH (desirable).
