World Art Day: Collaborative Canvas at Royal Hospital Chelsea
Celebrate World Art Day by taking part in a unique collaborative painting experience at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
Date: Saturday 18 April
Time: 12:00–15:30
Please note: This is a free session, but to secure your place, please reserve your tickets below.
Guided by visual artist Sarah Stadler, visitors are invited to help create a large-scale artwork depicting the Royal Hospital Chelsea, painted panel by panel by members of the community.
This relaxed and inclusive session offers a moment to slow down, pick up a brush, and enjoy the calming rhythm of painting together. With gentle guidance, short reflections on why art matters, and plenty of creative freedom, participants of all ages and abilities are welcome.
Alongside the main artwork, there will be additional drop-in activities for families and younger children, making it easy for everyone to take part in their own way.
The completed artwork will be displayed at the Royal Hospital Chelsea as a lasting celebration of creativity, connection, and community.

About the Artist
Sarah Stadler is a London-based visual artist and illustrator. She has been painting since childhood and attended weekly art classes from the age of six, exploring a wide range of mediums before developing a particular love for watercolour and illustration.
Sarah is passionate about using art as a mindful and connective practice. Through her workshops and Artful Morning sessions - including previous sessions hosted at the Royal Hospital Chelsea - she creates calm, welcoming environments where people can slow down, experiment, and enjoy the simple joy of painting together.
Her work is rooted in attention to detail, thoughtful colour choices, and a deep belief in art as a way to bring people together, even if they arrive as strangers.
