The Choral Music of Edward Elgar - Chelsea History Festival
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Elgar Society, the Chapel Choir of the Royal Hospital Chelsea gives a concert of his finest sacred and secular choral music. The Choir’s recent recordings of Elgar on the SOMM label, The Reeds by Severn Side and Light out of Darkness, have been widely acclaimed, Gramophone noting that ‘these are heartfelt, careful, tastefully interpreted performances which eminently bear repeated listening.’ Interval drinks will be served in the Great Hall and are included in the ticket price.
Doors open at 6:30pm and the concert will conclude by approximately 8:45pm.
