The Life of a Waterloo Soldier; as told by modern veterans through the archaeology of the Battlefield.
The Royal Hospital Chelsea are delighted to be partnering with Waterloo Uncovered to celebrate the charity's 10th anniversary by hosting their first UK exhibition.
The free exhibition is co-created by Waterloo Uncovered veterans and Chelsea Pensioners with the support and guidance of Waterloo Uncovered experts. Using objects from Waterloo Uncovered's archaeological collection, it will showcase the positive impact their programmes have had on the wellbeing of veterans and serving military personnel over the last 10 years, and celebrate the value of veterans' engagement in heritage.
About Waterloo Uncovered
Waterloo Uncovered is the ground-breaking charity combining world-class archaeology with veteran wellbeing and recovery through discovery of the Battle of Waterloo. Their varied programmes enable beneficiaries to engage in meaningful archaeological activity, as they uncover, discover and recover.
Their beneficiary support is changing lives, improving wellbeing, whilst developing transferable skills. Their discoveries are changing understanding of conflict, uncovering physical evidence of those who fought and died at the Battle of Waterloo.
Their education activities share our knowledge and research, linking conflicts past to conflicts present and demonstrating the impact of war. Waterloo Uncovered aims to understand war and its impact on people - and to educate the public about it.
