Date: Friday 25 September - Sunday 27 September 2026
Location: Soane Stable Yard Activity Room (enter via Chelsea Gate)

In celebration of National Day of Arts in Care Homes, discover a unique exhibition of artwork created by Chelsea Pensioners and inspired by the fascinating world of mudlarking.

Over the summer, Chelsea Pensioners worked alongside mudlarker Janet Bounds and pottery tutor Emily Chilvers to explore artefacts recovered from the River Thames. Inspired by these objects and the stories they hold, Pensioners created a collection of ceramic and mixed-media artworks that reflect themes of history, memory and discovery.

The exhibition celebrates the creativity of Chelsea Pensioners and the important role that the arts continue to play within the Royal Hospital Chelsea community.

Admission free. The exhibition will be open to drop into throughout the weekend.
