The Royal Hospital Chelsea is home to the Chelsea Pensioners – retired soldiers who receive both sheltered accommodation and full nursing care in a community built on camaraderie, dignity, and respect.
We are looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join our Health & Wellbeing team, helping to deliver exceptional care and lead by example in upholding our core values:

What you will be doing:
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the wellbeing of our Pensioners, including:
- Leading by example in delivering high-quality personal care
- Supporting and mentoring junior care staff
- Promoting dignity, independence, and individual choice
- Contributing to social activities and supporting the Activities Team
- Maintaining accurate care plan records
- Reporting on wellbeing and liaising with the wider care team
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience in a care setting, ideally with older people
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience or willingness to support medication administration
- Good literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills
- Understanding of good care principles and CQC standards
- Commitment to working towards or holding a Care Certificate or equivalent

Our selection process
