Network & Helpdesk Administrator

Closing Date: 2nd March 2026

At the Royal Hospital Chelsea, we are looking for a proactive Network & Helpdesk Administrator to join our IT team and help keep our technology running smoothly for both staff and the Chelsea Pensioners who call the Hospital home. Founded in 1682, the Royal Hospital Chelsea is a retirement community for around 300 army veterans, known as the Chelsea Pensioners, drawn from every corner of the United Kingdom. Based in the heart of London, it is a special place defined by community and service.  We are looking for people who enjoy working with others and take pride in making a positive difference. You will lead by example and help create a welcoming, inclusive environment for everyone who lives and works here.

In this role, you will be the key point of contact for ensuring seamless IT operations across the Hospital. Your responsibilities will include managing user accounts, troubleshooting network issues, supporting security systems, and assisting with the onboarding of new staff. Your work will play an essential part in supporting both internal teams and the Chelsea Pensioners.

You will provide support across Active Directory, Mitel, Office 365, and Windows environments, while managing helpdesk calls, network sockets, and printer systems. Collaboration with our security team will be an aspect of the role, particularly in maintaining CCTV, biometric, and nurse call systems. You will also assist with mobile device setup, software inductions, and the implementation of cyber security tools such as Sophos, ensuring that IT support is efficient, friendly, and solution focused.

To succeed in this role, you should have solid experience with Windows Server 2019, Windows 11, antivirus management, and mobile device management. A background of two to three years in LAN/WAN, VoIP, and Microsoft environments is essential, along with strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. An MCSE certification is required, and a degree in Computing Science would be desirable.  Experience with VMWare, Mitel VoIP, Meraki Switches, Ruckus Wi-Fi, and Power BI would be an advantage.
